General Information
Chlorella is a kind of plant which is microscopic (2-10 micrometer diameter), green, single-cell, fresh water alga. The name of Chlorella is made in Greek word ; CHLOROS (Green) + ELLA (Small). Chlorella is known to have been existed from as early as "Precambria" period because it was found in the fossil of that period. The unique character of Chlorella is that it has more chlorophyll than any other plants. This makes Chlorella exceed any other plants in photosynthesizing function, which is the most different property of the plants from the animals.
There are many reports that Chlorella works greatly to cure directly or indirectly the various diseases. Also it is known to detoxify the heavy metals (dioxin, Cu, Pb, Cd) in the human body. Such Chlorella’s effects are analyzed by the function of Chlorella which changes an acidic human body into an alkaline one same like the yellow green vegetable do. Generally the acidic human body is known to be more vulnerable to the diseases than the alkaline one.
